  • “Big store, bright lighting, sparse products, but that is probably intentional because it is clean and sleek looking. 3 people in the store… 1 customer and 2 employees helping him, while both employees looking down at the customers cell phone. I just wanted to buy a $15 USB/microUSB charging cord. I looked around on my own and finally found what I was looking for, and brought it over to where the “group” of people were. After about 3 or 4 minutes of me standing by this “desk,” one person who I found out later actually worked there, asked “Just checking out?” I replied in the affirmative. Without getting up, or even LOOKING up, he just reached out his hand. I assumed he wanted the small box that contained the cord. I stood where I was and held out my hand that contained the cord. There was still about 6 feet between our two hands. When he realized there was nothing in his hands yet, he actually looked up. He saw me staring at him with the box in my hand reaching it toward him. I think he finally realized I was a customer. He got up and said “Over here” and pointed to a credit card reader. As he processed the product for the next 2 or 3 minutes, I asked if they use Apple Pay. AT&T were the first ones to introduce iPhones in the US, weren’t they? I got a grunting “unh uh” Which I think meant, no. So I put my credit card in the chip reader part of the credit card machine, but nothing happened. The clerk also fiddled with it, inserting and removing it repeatedly. After some grunts under his breath, he asked his fellow employee “what’s up with the credit card chip reader?” The other guy must have been in the same training class, because he said, without looking up, “doesn’t work” The scintillating customer service was somewhat overwhelming, so I thought I would just pay with the regular swipe of my card. I did. I took my cord with me and all is well. As I was leaving, a woman came out of the back and walked to the front windows of the store and put some big decal on the window, with another woman looking on nodding approval. Since they actually smiled as I walked by, I assume they must have been managers. The decal looked fabulous. I am taking this lesson on “how not to treat customers” back to my hotel and use it as a case study. Thank you AT&T.”

  • “I just recently bought a IPhone there. The service was great and they told me many facts about the phone and now I know a lot about it. I haven’t had any problems with it and I love my IPhone.”
